Service Area Update | Kenya

We are glad to share that as of 5/1/2021, the previous lockdown of the five counties (treated as one zone) has been lifted with the following restrictions. Movement may resume in/out of the 5 county zone which is where we are located. There is a curfew in place from 10 PM to 4 AM and various types of establishments must close by 7 PM. Internal flights in/out of the 5 county zone have also resumed, masks still expected.

The Angaza Project has been working hard to still ensure the girls are receiving what would have been their daily meal from school since school was closed the month of April in the lock down as well. Thanks to your support, we served 496 lunches, THANK YOU! We used the same creative and distanced measures with pick up times assigned for each girl to still pick up her "to-go" lunch container. In addition, we have the same entrance requirements of social distance, hands washed, shoes kicked off and a mask required while one at a time. We also want to thank the Scholar's and Girls Empowerment parents, our local community market vendors, transport driver, staff, volunteers, Board Directors, and friends for helping to make all of this continue to go smoothly throughout April.

As for our services, we will continue to support the restrictions and expectations of the Kenya Ministry of Health and the Kenyan Government with limited numbers, masks and hand washing. We are bringing back our Saturday Girls Empowerment, setting dates for our Women's Empowerment, and building our new schedule for Maridadi Skills at this time with the restrictions implemented. We look forward to sharing additional updates and activities with you ahead!

Thank you for your continued support!
